I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a special interest in General, Colorectal and Laparoscopic surgery. My specific interests are the treatment of Colorectal cancer, gallbladder removal and hernia repair via the 'keyhole method' and newer operations for the treatment of haemorrhoids (piles) - the stapled haemorrhoidopexy operation. I have a particular interest in patients who have developed intestinal fistulae.

I run a large surgical practice and unit at the Charing Cross Hospital, London,  now part of Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust and in addition to providing an Emergency General Surgery Service have a research department with principal interests in understanding Colorectal Cancer cell physiology in collaboration with the  Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. I am a principle investigator on the HIFU project that uses non invasive high frequency ultrasound in the treatment of rectal cancer where orthodox treatments have failed.
